On March 1, LSF Health Systems (LSFHS) launched Mind Redefined: Lifting the Stigma Around Mental Health, a new podcast designed to increase awareness of mental health issues and reduce stigma. Dr. Christine Cauffield, CEO of LSF Health Systems, has been a leader in sharing her knowledge on news talk shows and webinars throughout the state. With so much content and exciting partnerships, it was the perfect time to launch our very own podcast! In the first two episodes, Dr. Cauffield addresses the impact of COVID-19 on our mental health and the De-Stigmatization Philosophy.
Our 3rd episode features Dr. Rick Marks, founder of RelateWell, a research-based curriculum on building healthy relationships, who discusses mental health and the faith community. New episodes are published weekly. Listen here!
Are you curious about brainchild and host of this podcast? Meet Scott Swanstrom, Project Coordinator for our Mental Health Awareness Training (MHAT) grant, who holds an MAR Degree in Counseling from Liberty University. LSF’s communication team sat down with Scott whose passion begins with Veterans, Families, and the Faith community.
What was missing in the Podcast world that made you decide to launch one for LSF Health Systems?
There are many amazing Mental Health-related podcasts, however, LSF Health Systems has a unique perspective to have a global mission fulfilled by local resources. We wanted a podcast that was both professional and approachable.
Can you give us a sneak peek to the next one?
All of our episodes will address reducing mental health stigma, but we have some fascinating conversations relating to the Faith Community, Human Trafficking/Trauma, Veterans and their families, and a conversation on the correlation between stroke victims and depression.
What is special about this podcast?
This podcast is special because of the wide variety of guests that we interview. Many of the topics discussed have never been addressed in public forum before.
What are you most excited about?
I am most excited to see LSF Health Systems pioneer a relatively new communication platform that will extend well beyond North East and North Central Florida.
