LSF Health Systems CEO, Dr. Christine Cauffield, has been invited to serve on a national panel of experts guiding the efforts of the White House’s Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) as it prepares the new administration’s drug control strategy. The ONDCP, a component of the Executive Office of the President, is charged with reducing substance use disorder and its consequences by coordinating the nation’s drug control policy through the development and oversight of the National Drug Control Strategy and Budget. “The group of experts will help shape future national public policy and advise on the implementation of best practices,” according to information from officials coordinating the formation of the new panel. “The panel will help identify and define evidence-based public health recommendations for the prevention, treatment of and recovery from substance use disorder in the United States.”
“It’s been an honor to help lead Florida’s fight against the opioid epidemic and I look forward to working with other experts on the panel to shape our nation’s policies on substance abuse,” said Dr. Cauffield.
